  • Short description
    • The XEROROOF project is framed in the field of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) as one of the principal strategies to achieve the environmental objectives within the ecological transition set out in the Regulation (EU) 2020/852. They facilitate the sustainable investment, consequently contributing to the New European Bauhaus initiative, in compliance with the objectives set out in the European Green Deal for the building sector. The main objective of the XEROROOF project is to design a new system of green roof, the Xeroroof, that not only will be more efficient in the use of water (environmental sustainability), but also it will improve some of the ecosystem services related to the water content in the system (economic viability), such as the urban runoff control and the thermal insulation capacity. The system will also make possible the reduction in the maintenance activities dependence (long-term sustainability)
