In recent months, the IT4S research group has been very actively involved in the development of the Sustainable Wastewater Treatment for Hospitals SWaTH project. Last November the IT4S group received a delegation of Lebanese teachers participating in the SWaTH project. Wael Hamd and Makram El Bachawati, from the UOB; Joyce Kheir, Lebanese University; and Roger Matta, from Holly Spirit University of Kaslik, visited the facilities of the Polytechnic School both in Lleida, the capital of Segrià, and on the Igualada-UdL campus. They also visited the Lleida urban wastewater treatment plant (Lleida – AQUALIA WWTP).
On Thursday 11 November, a webinar was offered at the University of Lleida: “General introduction to Life Cycle Assessment and some examples of application” by Dr. Makram El Bachawati of Balamand University (Lebanon).
The week of the 13th to the 17th of November took place a “training week” in Granada, organized by Dr. Sergio Morales and his team from the University of Granada.
Finally, on December 21, the first “Monitoring Visit” of the project took place, in which the coordinator and his team explained the progress made in the project to date.
